Important Notes for Applicants.
All entry into the Beavers, Cubs, Scouts and Trent Explorers will be through the official waiting list. Applications should be made online though this website and the form must be completed in full to secure a place on the waiting list. Anyone who is unable to do this should contact us to discuss alternative arrangements.
When a vacancy arises, places will be offered on a priority basis, which takes into account the following criteria:
* Living permanently at a postal address within Aston, Weston or Shardlow.
* Prior membership of 107th Beavers, Cubs or Scouts, with an acceptable level of behaviour and progress.
* Having recently moved into area, having been with another Scout group.
The minimum age to apply for a place on the waiting list is as follows: Beavers: 5 years old; Cubs: 7 years old; Scouts: 9 years old; Explorers: 13 years old.
The 107th Scout Group & Trent Explorers is voluntary organisation with no external financial support. Parents are expected to support the Group by participating in fund raising events and from time to time assisting leaders during section meetings. For the protection of minors, helpers will be asked to complete a Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS) declaration. An offer of membership will be subject to acceptance of this condition.
When a vacancy arises, a place will be offered by email. Full membership and attendance at meetings will then be subject to completion of the Registration form and a bank Standing Order for regular payment of subscriptions. Current membership fee for all sections is £25 per quarter (subject to revision).
In the event that we have no vacancies, the application will be held on the waiting list for the section appropriate to the age of the applicant.
Because we are in high demand and prioritise applications from Aston-on-Trent, Weston-on-Trent and Shardlow, applications from outside this area are rarely successful and you are strongly advised to apply to a group closer to you. Further information about groups in your area can be found at the Derbyshire Scouts Web Site.
